What these scores mean

The numbers on this site are provisional editorial estimates. They are not independently verified test results, customer-review averages or official ratings supplied by the platforms. The current content does not contain documented testing records that would justify presenting the criterion scores as measured performance.

Use the figures as a limited comparison aid and read the course-specific information before choosing a provider. A higher overall number does not guarantee a better course for your particular subject, level or learning style.

The three recorded criteria

Course catalog, teaching quality and platform UX are recorded on a scale from 0 to 100. These values represent editorial judgments, not percentages of satisfied learners or measured learning outcomes. Their precision should not be interpreted as evidence of a controlled evaluation.

Catalog considers subject coverage and progression. Teaching quality concerns the described instruction and practice format. UX concerns the intended study workflow. The present criterion values still require a documented, consistent assessment before they can be described as validated scores.

How the overall score is calculated

The overall score is derived from the three stored criteria:

Overall score = (35 × catalog + 30 × teaching + 15 × UX) ÷ 800.

The result is rounded to one decimal place on a scale from 0 to 10. The relative weights are 35:30:15; after normalization they correspond to 43.75%, 37.5% and 18.75%.

For example, criterion values of 95, 82 and 90 produce an overall score of 8.9. The calculation checks arithmetic consistency; it does not independently establish the accuracy of the underlying editorial judgments.

Why price is excluded from the calculation

The previous description assigned 20% to price and certificates, but the database has no corresponding numeric criterion. Including that component would require inventing a value or silently inferring it from the other scores.

Price, access arrangements and credentials therefore remain descriptive information. Check current conditions on the exact offering. A free course, participation statement and recognized qualification should not be treated as interchangeable benefits.

Consistency across the website

Reviews, the general rating, comparison tables and course shortlists use the same stored overall score. Administration calculates the overall value from the three criteria instead of accepting an unrelated number. Tied general scores are ordered consistently by platform name; a small difference should not be treated as decisive evidence.

Topic shortlists also consider the subject and study goal. Their position is curated and is not a promise that a platform with a higher general score will be the best choice for every task.

What would support a verified rating

A verified assessment would need dated evidence, defined tasks, comparable course samples and a clear explanation for each criterion. Feedback, accessibility, cancellation and mobile or offline features should be checked directly when they are relevant.

Until that evidence exists, the site labels these figures as provisional and does not describe them as an aggregate of customer reviews or results of hands-on testing. Recheck the underlying facts before relying on the figures for an important learning decision.
